A rare 1930s Hague School modernist cabinet, attributed to designer and architect P.E.L Izeren for De Genneper Molen.
Constructed primarily from solid oak and oak veneers with accented Macassar ebony inlays and handles, it’s highly rational, linear and geometric form was inspired by the designs of architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
The cabinet features a stepped architectural headboard, an asymmetrical two-door configuration, one solid wood panelled door with an ebony stripe and one with a clear glass display panel. The side panels of are also asymmetrical and the finishing touch is the small blocky modernist feet.
The overall condition is excellent, there are a few minor knocks from age and use and a small stain to the top.
An excellent addition to a home office or a nice sideboard for a smaller hallway or living space.
