A large wooden storage pot from the Tutsi tribe of Rwanda, East Africa. This piece dates back to the mid 20th century and would have originally been used for holding food or beverages used in day to day life.
These storage pots were carved by hand from a single piece of wood and come in different shapes and sizes. The metal pieces seen are all handmade repairs added over time, no two pieces are the same and this one shows a large variety of different styles of repairs, adding to its decorative and original charm.
A great and unique decorative item.
This piece shows wear throughout keeping it with age.
